The Kerala High Court on Monday directed the state government to reopen the Vilappilsala solid waste treatment plant and allow entry of garbage vehicles into the plant. The court also ordered the government to provide necessary police protection to the plant. The court issued the order while considering the plea submitted by the Thiruavananthapuram Corporation. In the interim order, the court has asked to open the plant on Monday itself and to start the treatment of the degradable wastes .HC also asked to ensure police protection for the day to day activities in the plant.
