The investigating officers filed the charge sheet in the court on Friday
in connection with the shooting incident of two Indian fishermen on
sea. The charge sheet has to be filed within 90 days of registering an
FIR lest the court should give bail to the accused. Hence the charge
sheet was filed against the marines identified as Massimiliano Latorre
and Salvatore Girone on Friday itself.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Tuesday took into custody four
more accused in a case relating to the gruesome murder of RMP leader T.P
Chandrasekharan at Vadakara on May 4. According to the police the four
accused identified as Dipu, Lambu Pradeep, Renjith and Raveendran have
close connection with Kodi Suni and Rafeek, the two main accused in the
murder case.

The Supreme Court stayed all proceedings, including arrests, in the land
allotment case where VS Achuthanandhan was made an accused. The SC made
it clear that there is no restriction on filing a chargesheet or
conducting a probe in the case. The directive comes when the court was
hearing a plea filed by VS relative and accused T K Soman. The court
also directed to issue a notice to the state govt.
